MacMillan Book Fair

We are excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair back at Sir Ernest MacMillan. This week the students will be walking through the Book Fair to get an idea of what items they wish to purchase. Classes will then have an opportunity to purchase items on Wednesday and Thursday during the day. We will also have the Book Fair open during Student Led Conferences Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Parking Lot Reminder

Please remember not to leave your vehicle to escort your child(ren) to the blacktop, unless you are parked in a designated parking spot. If you can not find a spot then we ask that you loop around using Headon Rd. If you are dropping your children off, please use the Drop Off Zone indicated on the map. Please refer to the map below, which indicates the flow of traffic. We want to ensure all of our community members are safe when using our parking lot.

Cold Weather

With the colder weather and snow upon us, please ensure your child(ren) are coming to school dressed appropriately for the weather. Hats, gloves, boots, and snow pants are highly recommended especially for our students who love playing on the field during recess. The Board’s Inclement Weather Reminders are being sent home this week.

Holiday Concert

Please join us on Tuesday, December 11 for this year’s Holiday Concert. The bands, choir, drumline and other groups are busy putting together another fantastic show. The evening starts at 6:30 pm and then join us afterwards for some hot chocolate, cookies and crafts. Families are encouraged to bring in a donation for our Giving Tree. We will be collecting hats, mittens, scarves and non-perishable food items in the month of December.

Parents in School

The staff at Sir Ernest MacMillan want to thank you for continuing to create a safe environment for our students.  Please remember that parents should be signing in at the office at all times so that the staff and students know who are in our building.  If your child is late or you need to drop something off, please come to the office first rather than walking through our halls. If you require to meet with a teacher, please come to the office and we can see if they are available as they are busy getting ready for their day.  You can also arrange a meeting via a phone call or email. Thank you.
